Drain and rinse the chickpeas with cold water and remove the skin of the chickpeas.
Place chickpeas, peanut butter, maple syrup or honey and vanilla extract in a food processor. Blend for a few minutes. If the mixture becomes too thick, add water 1 tbsp at a time until it blends more easily. The consistency should be close to that of hummus. Blend until smooth.
Transfer to a bowl and stir in chocolate chips. Serve cold. Enjoy!
